American Breed:
There are two major color classifications of American Rabbits, the blue and the white. The sub classification includes the American fuzzy lop and American sable. The American fuzzy lop was introduced with random breeding of two Holland lops with recessionary wool gene. This rabbit has thick wool covering around the body and has lopped ears. American sable has various stages of sable coloring.
Angora Breed:
This includes the former domestic rabbits evolved in the place Ankara in Turkey. The rabbits of angora breed have long wool. The sub classification of the breed includes the English Angora, the French Angora and the Satin Angora. The English Angora breeds of rabbits are very calm in nature and need regular brush ups. The French Angora breed has surface hairs and undercoated wool. The Satin Angora breed has strong wool coating with soft texture.
Himalayan Breed:
This breed of rabbits is common in the Himalaya Mountains in Asia. This breed is broadly distributed in the world and popular for general character. The Himalayan breed of rabbits forms excellent pets for children and new rabbit owners.
Lionhead Breeds:
This is the latest domesticated breeds of rabbits and initiated in Belgium. It is a combination of Swiss Fox and Belgian Dwarf. The basic structure includes a round head with long hair around the face resembling a male lion and shorter ears.
There are many other breeds that make extraordinary pets recognized by the ARBA such as American Chinchilla, the Blue of Ham, Dutch and English Spot. All these breeds are newly originated combination of former rabbits.

Most of the pet lovers adopt these cute animals from a rescue shelter. There are also other options such as the private breeders and the pet stores. The pet stores supply a variety of rabbits, but ensure the proper health conditions of the rabbits and their nature.
