About Broadband Routers

About BroadBand Routers

With broadband routers, you can interconnect more than one computer to share an identical IP (Internet Protocol) address or the Internet connection. This means you do not need to sign-up with different cyberspace services to use Internet for your work.

If you have two or more computers in house or office, then you first need to establish an Internet connection using NAT (Network Address Translation). NAT is a procedure of modifying your Internet network address in packet headers using a router.

Broadband routers help you and your family or office members to send, receive e-mails and surf the Internet at the same time. It will give an extra protection to your computer while surfing the Internet, because it has an additional protection wall, which acts similar to firewall. The firewall conceals your factual IP address and prevents people from hacking your system.

Cost, Types and Accessibility:

Generally, basic broadband routers cost anywhere between seventy to hundred dollars. However, more intense and superior routers may cost thousand dollars.  If you run an organization having few computers, then you can opt for such superior routers because transfer and exchange of data will take place at higher pace.

Otherwise, you can opt for basic type of broadband routers such as ADSL routers as their cost is less and they are ideal for sharing Internet connection at home.

If you are using ADSL broadband routers, then you need to upgrade the standard phone line to transmit fast online services. Here you do not need a separate modem. As you connect the ADSL router to phone line, you can easily share cyber connection with all computers in home.

To use superior broadband, you will have to connect the service through modem, which plugs in the cable socket. As you turn on the modem via superior broadband routers, you can share Internet connection with other computers in home or offices.
